What to expect.
Our standard studio set up is a large white space. This helps give the pictures a clean contemporary look and means you can wear whatever colours you like.
Our style is informal and fluid. We’re happy to work to your brief or make suggestions. Either way we’ll do our best to help you relax & have fun. We’ll play music, use props and, for about half an hour, we’ll shoot lots of great pictures covering a range of different combinations and ‘poses.’
Afterwards, your photographer will explain what happens next and give you some paperwork. Most people like to stay for a few minutes and have a look at their pictures – but you do not have to do any decision making at this point. Instead you can view all your pictures securely online at your leisure; choose the picture that comes ‘free’ with your sitting and order others if you wish to.

Lee
I never have a typical day. One day I can have a toy monkey on my head entertaining 300 school children and the next I’m capturing some great family moments in the studio. And that’s the way I like it.
They say a child laughs 300 times a day and an adult only 15 – part of my job is to help adults close the gap! Making people feel good, look good and have fun has to be one of the best parts of my job.
I have plenty of long days - early starts, long drives, with lots of setting up before a full on day of shooting. But even after all this and getting home late & exhausted, I still get up the next day ready to go again - and that says it all.
Away from Pret-a-Portrait I enjoy cooking, films, I’m mad about the Beatles and I love spending time with my wife Helen. We are both very excited about the imminent arrival of our first child.

Laura
I joined Pret-a-Portrait and got married in autumn 2009 – and I can thoroughly recommend both!
I enjoy the variety that my job creates and look forward to meeting new people on a regular basis. As well as working as a photographer I also spend some of my time in the despatch department at the Pret office – so even if I don’t take your pictures it may be me that sends them to you!
My husband and I live in a small Hertfordshire village and like to ride our bikes with a camera always close by. Otherwise you’ll find me at home, probably within easy reach of cake or chocolate biscuits.

Anna
My life as a Pret photographer began in January 2005. Since then I have
travelled far and wide, attempting to coax smiles and laughs out of children and
families around the world - well all over the UK as well as Luxembourg, Dubai &
Abu Dhabi. When not working for Pret I do a range of other photography
assignments and specialise in photographing live gigs. If I have any spare time
(or spare money) I love to cycle and ski – although not at the same time. |

Hannah is better with pictures than with words.

I come from a background in fashion & advertising photography. I have been working for Pret-a-Portrait since 2007 and I love meeting new people and making them look good. I’m inspired by music, film and things of beauty in general. And years of experience have helped me to understand that however much technical knowledge you have, it’s of no use unless you can make people feel comfortable while being photographed.
What makes me smile? Well silly things...but I’m not restricting myself.

Gary
Gary has asked us to restrict this section to the “young pretty ones”.
We’ve explained that we think he is one of the young pretty ones and hope to add a picture of him soon.

Simon
If someone asks me to run a huge distance dressed as a comic book hero, or jump out of a plane, or climb a mountain I’ll probably say no. But a challenge that starts with the words “I hate having my picture taken” is right up my street.
I love my job. It’s not just the pictures. It’s the whole experience. I’ve captured first steps and photographed families re-united after years apart. But I’m just as happy creating special moments out of an ordinary day.

Paul
I have had a passion for photography for years and joined Pret-a-Portrait’s office team in 2009 in the hope that I’d be given a chance to get out and take some pictures. It took about a year, trying to get the right balance of patience and persistence – but then it happened and I haven’t looked back.
I’m a very positive happy person, for whom the glass is always definitely half full. I love making people laugh (maybe that’s why they wanted me out of the office)
Away from photography I enjoy my family & friends, cooking, running, bike rides, music, and films.

Chloe
I have had a great passion for photography from an early age and have recently graduated from Anglia Ruskin University, with a Bachelors Degree with honours in photography.
I love working in the studio here and with the great team back at the office. It’s all really good fun.
People can arrive in the studio excited, confident and up for anything or they can be rather apprehensive and uncertain. I know that everyone has a happy side and it’s my job to help them find it – or in the case of overexcited children, to help calm them down!
