What to expect.
Our standard studio set up is a large white space. This helps give the pictures a clean contemporary look and means you can wear whatever colours you like.
Our style is informal and fluid. We’re happy to work to your brief or make suggestions. Either way we’ll do our best to help you relax & have fun. We’ll play music, use props and, for about half an hour, we’ll shoot lots of great pictures covering a range of different combinations and ‘poses.’
Afterwards, your photographer will explain what happens next and give you some paperwork. Most people like to stay for a few minutes and have a look at their pictures – but you do not have to do any decision making at this point. Instead you can view all your pictures securely online at your leisure; choose the picture that comes ‘free’ with your sitting and order others if you wish to.

Andy
I’ve been working as a photographer for Pret-a-Portrait since 2006. If you were to ask me what I like most about my job , I would say that meeting new people, making them laugh and giving them images to treasure are all high up the list.
I was thrilled when we added wildlife photography to the activities we offer here. It’s been an obsession of mine for years and when I’m not in the studio you’ll often find me crawling through the undergrowth in search of a good vantage point.
I have a gorgeous little boy who is nearly 2. Maybe it’s him that helps me get the best out of children who visit the studio or maybe I’m just a big kid myself!

Kim
Kim has been working at our Whinfell Forest studio since the summer of 2007. As well as being a star photographer she has also represented Great Britain at Kendo. She is currently taking a rest from both as she’s on maternity leave. She had a baby daughter in November which means we’ll just have to be patient and hope she’ll be able to join in again sometime in 2011.

Garry
I've been working as a photographer for ten years & I love it. I joined Pret-a-Portrait in 2009. Doing this job you get to meet lots of people and lots of different characters. It makes life fun and means that every day brings new & different challenges.
I also enjoy travelling, long walks & eating pizza sandwiches. Well I am from Blackpool.

Phil
I’m one of the more recent arrivals here. I joined in early in 2010. There is no such thing as 'a day at the office' for me, mainly because I spend most of my time playing, laughing and rolling around on the floor or running around like a maniac! I love that our technique isn't stuffy.
Outside of my life with Pret-a-Portrait, I do lots of other photography & I teach night classes in photography at a local college.

Tim
We found Tim early in 2010 while he was studying for a degree in Wildlife & Media at the University of Cumbria. He joined initially to help with the Wildlife photography sessions. But he turns out to be a dab hand in the studio too. So you may find him showing how to get a great shot a red squirrel – or it may be you he has in his sights.
