What to expect.
Our standard studio set up is a large white space. This helps give the pictures a clean contemporary look and means you can wear whatever colours you like.
Our style is informal and fluid. We’re happy to work to your brief or make suggestions. Either way we’ll do our best to help you relax & have fun. We’ll play music, use props and, for about half an hour, we’ll shoot lots of great pictures covering a range of different combinations and ‘poses.’
Afterwards, your photographer will explain what happens next and give you some paperwork. Most people like to stay for a few minutes and have a look at their pictures – but you do not have to do any decision making at this point. Instead you can view all your pictures securely online at your leisure; choose the picture that comes ‘free’ with your sitting and order others if you wish to.

Deborah
I was one of the first photographers to join Pret-a-Portrait, when the company started back in 2003.
I have no idea how many sittings I have done since then, but no two are the same and that’s one of the things I love. I really believe that a picture is worth a thousand words, and a really good one can say so much about you or your family.

I absolutely love being a portrait photographer – especially the way we do it here. Families often arrive at the studio not sure what to expect and looking a bit uncomfortable. A few minutes later they’re laughing and having a really great time.
My large family (I have 5 children) have tolerated my obsession with photography for years and have become used to being guinea pigs when I try out new techniques.
My happiest moments at work are when you get an unexpected hugs from toddlers half way through a sitting.

I joined Pret-a-Portrait in 2007. It may sound corny but it’s a dream job. I have a passion for photography. I love working with people. And Center Parcs Longleat Forest is virtually on my doorstep.
To freeze a split second in time and think that people will see it for a lifetime gives me huge pleasure.

A long time ago I moved from Newcastle to Wiltshire – although you won’t believe it was that long ago when you hear me speak!
I love all kinds of photography, but I particularly enjoy working with small children. It’s so delightful when they smile back at the camera – and there’s plenty of that working here!
As well as photographing people I love doing cityscapes at night – particularly of my home town when I get the chance.
When not working on images, I have a husband, two daughters and three cats who keep me really busy.

Nikki
At the time we put this page together Nikki was travelling in the U.S.; camping & hiking in some of the wilder parts of Texas. Her own biog will be added soon. But for now you’ll just have to take our word for it – she may not be around right now but that doesn’t mean she isn’t a jolly good photographer!
