What to expect.
Our standard studio set up is a large white space. This helps give the pictures a clean contemporary look and means you can wear whatever colours you like.
Our style is informal and fluid. We’re happy to work to your brief or make suggestions. Either way we’ll do our best to help you relax & have fun. We’ll play music, use props and, for about half an hour, we’ll shoot lots of great pictures covering a range of different combinations and ‘poses.’
Afterwards, your photographer will explain what happens next and give you some paperwork. Most people like to stay for a few minutes and have a look at their pictures – but you do not have to do any decision making at this point. Instead you can view all your pictures securely online at your leisure; choose the picture that comes ‘free’ with your sitting and order others if you wish to.

My Sitting FAQ’s
How many pictures do you take?
We’ll take lots of pictures during your sitting. There is no set number but we try to cover a range of options – different combinations of people, different ‘poses’, some close ups, some mid shots, some wider or full length shots. If there are things you especially want just tell us.
In a half hour sitting we’ll rarely take less than 50 or 60 shots, we’ll often take 150, and sometimes more.
The studio area itself is about 4m x 6m – but we’re very used to handling everything from a single tiny baby to a large extended family group of 25 or even more.
And even if your group is so large that we can’t get everyone in the studio at the same time – we have a well tried technique where we photograph everyone in smaller groups and put everyone together afterwards in post-production.
The short answer is anything you like. It mostly depends on what you want the pictures to look like.
It is helpful if you are comfortable and wearing clothes that make you feel good.
It can look good if there is some sort of loose theme to a family or group – e.g. everyone wearing the same colour top (black or white t shirts perhaps?) or a theme (e.g. a range of pastel shades). But neither is essential.
It’s also worth remembering we can ‘treat’ colours afterwards in post-production.
Don’t worry - you don’t have to decide upfront.
We shoot in colour – but you have the option to view and order pictures ion B&W afterwards.
In our online shop you can click a button to see what any picture looks like in B&W. You can even create a multi-image pictures (e.g. 9ups) where some pictures are in colour and others in B&W.
We have a small supply of props in each studio (e.g. toys, cushions, balls, hoops, feather boas etc). They can make things fun and help to create the right mood as well as creating some great picture opportunities.
We are also very happy for you to bring your own. After all a treasured possession can help create a unique image that is really you. Musical instruments, skate boards, sporting props, bikes, laptops, are just some of the object that have made appearances in the studios.
A few minutes after your sitting you will be able to see all the pictures we have taken. And it’s a really good thing to do if you have time. There will usually be lots to look at so we won’t put you under any pressure to make decisions on the spot. It is a great chance to see what you’ve got – and your photographer will be on hand to offer advice and answer any questions you may have.

As soon as your pictures are ready to view we will send you an email, which sets out everything you need to know. Our website is simple to use and has lots of useful features - e.g. you can create separate favourites albums top narrow down your choices, you can see what any picture will look like in a variety of frame styles, you can crop pictures, build multi-image pictures (e.g. 4ups) view pictures in B&W.
And we have a team of people waiting to help you on the telephone or by email if you need help or advice at any stage.
We offer a 10% earlybird discount off any pictures you order in the first 4 weeks.
You can share your sitting ID with friends and family if you would like them to be able to view your pictures as well.
Yes we do. In a variety of ways. You can buy lower resolution ones if you want to use them to email to friends or for making smaller prints. Or you can buy higher resolution files if you want to produce large prints or canvases etc.
You can choose individual images or multi-packs where the images are re-touched and ready to print, or you can buy the un-retouched master files for your whole sitting.

We have worked hard to keep our prices as low as possible. In general they will be less than half of what you might expect to pay at a good high street studio, and for some products it is more like a third or even a quarter of what many of our competitors charge.
Unlike many photographers we are happy to be totally transparent about our prices before you decide to have a sitting – so please do take a look
What’s more we promise we will never put you under any pressure to buy anything. You will be viewing at your leisure without any arm twisting from us.
